Established in 2007 by an ambitious Gaffer in a modest garage, Double Down Lighting swiftly carved out a niche by pioneering a boutique service tailored to the burgeoning demand for RAW format video, which allows for less lighting.
Recognizing an untapped market demand for smaller, lift-gate-equipped vehicles, Double Down Lighting introduced custom sprinter vans and compact box trucks, perfectly accommodating crews and productions. Embracing cutting-edge LED technology when others hesitated, the company excelled, earning acclaim for its efficient service and proactive approach.
Since its inception, Double Down Lighting has continually expanded its fleet and equipment, positioning itself at the forefront of the industry. Relocating strategically to Jersey City in 2018 ahead of anticipated tax incentives, the company solidified its presence and earned widespread recognition across NYC and NJ.
Today, Double Down Lighting caters to projects of all scales, from major union and non union productions to intimate passion projects, delivering unparalleled service and meticulous attention to detail. We are located at 9 Hackensack Ave, Unit B & C, Kearny, NJ 07032, in a vibrant and rapidly developing production hub. Just around the corner from some of New Jersey’s largest studios, including Parlay Studios, we offer a wide range of studio space. Plus, our convenient located just outside the Holland Tunnel makes pick-ups and drop-offs a breeze.
Double Down Lighting works with production teams hand-in-hand on their equipment needs. We offer delivery options to most areas in the North East. DDL can further assist by supplying crew such as Drivers, Driver / Swings as well as the industry's top Gaffers and Key Grips in the nonunion and union world.

Double Down Lighting continues to seek innovative ways to stay ahead of the curve, while servicing all size and scale projects with Lighting, Electric, Grip, Camera Support, Production Supplies and Expendables.
Today we offer not only sprinter vans but a wide range of box trucks including 16’, 18’, 20’, 26’, 45’ trailer, tow generators, and a combi truck with a 1400 Amp generator. Our box trucks are built out to meet the needs of both short-term projects where everything can quickly roll off and on. As well as long-term projects, in our combi truck or trailer, which are built-out so things can live on the truck but still have room to work out of that space.
